Book 2

“Well researched information about climate change, presented in a compelling manner, with deepening character development, writing in a style that is uniquely hers.”
—Dr. Howard Margolin, host of Destinies, The Voice of Science Fiction, WUSB-FM
Author Athena M Kaiman has extensive experience in politics on many levels – as a grass-roots organizer, a speechwriter and a press secretary – and that experience is key to the topic of our male dominated politics and government this excellent Young Adult novel explores. DAR & Earth: Oraculi was her debut novel, and now she offers DAR & Earth: Revelations.
The quality of writing in this sequel certainly signals the arrival of an important voice in literature. Inextricably combining history with social mores that create a new standard for not only novels of female empowerment, but also for a worthy critique of environmental, social, political, religious, and scientific issues, this young author succeeds in weaving a fine fantasy with keen insights on how we view our world.
The pleasure of this fine novel is in the reading, uncovering information and ideas at a pace that encourages incorporation of the thoughts presented. This is a very impressive novel – one that is highly recommended for the YA audience, and enlightened adults concerned about climate change!

What Readers are saying!
I have been waiting for the second book so long! I started it today and am already sucked back into the entire world of fantasy mixed with actual facts! I am so excited to keep going, and cannot put it down!!
Having already read and enjoyed the debut title in this new YA series by first-time novelist Kaiman, I can say that I am now also impelled to read on and see what happens to Aelish and her Fantasy-driven matriarchal universe across two entirely separate yet connected worlds. Since nearly anyone who has eyes and lives on this planet now fully understands the cataclysmic realities of climate change, a YA novel with a focus on this topic may seem played out. Then again, read the news (or perhaps more accurately, “watch” the news), and you see that this particular YA series should probably be taught in every school in America. As entertaining a read as it is educational, REVELATIONS does not disappoint. Introduce the young readers in your life to this series . . . it’s that important.

5 Stars! From start to finish, I kept negotiating with myself to just read *one* more chapter before putting it down for the night. This book impressively introduces a myriad of topics throughout (grief, healthcare, agriculture, religion, detention, climate change, romance.. the list can go on and on and on) and cohesively connects them to one another brilliantly. The vivid storytelling truly transports you to the worlds of Izzy and Aelish, granting you a candid break from the day-to-day, while instilling hope that taking action for a cause that matters to you will not go in vain. Besides indulging in the next book, all I can hope for is for this series to be expanded to the screen! Indeed the type of book I wish had been around when I was younger to get lost in.
DAR & Earth Oraculi is a fantastical story of another world, that often mirrors and raises issues that preoccupy Earth as it is today. Wonderfully written and full of colorful and charismatic characters, it more than held my attention and will your’s as well. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I enjoyed reading this first book by Athena Kaiman very much. DAR & Earth: Oraculi is only the first in a proposed series of new YA fantasy novels, and I was definitely won over as much by the story’s characters as I was by its well-executed and fast-moving plot. I was very moved by the prevailing sense of feminine spirit and power that presides over the entire book. This is an entertaining and heartfelt YA debut novel, enjoyable for adults, as well, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to lead character Aelish in the next installment!

Amazing book!! Fabulous for all age groups, not just young adults. Love that there are multiple female protagonists! Teaches you about science, medicine, and the history of the patriarchy. Exciting storylines and new magical worlds! I want to live on DAR!

I am not typically a fan of fantasy novels but I truly enjoyed this one from the first page to the last. The writing was clever, the plot was relevant and well-thought-out, and the book was an easy read. Whether you are a fantasy fan looking for a new voice in the genre or are not well-versed in fantasy (like me), you should most definitely check the book out! I am definitely looking forward to book 2!!

NEVER, in a million years did I think I’d love “cli-fi” THIS much! I was instantly captivated by this HIGHLY VISUAL and evocative hybrid of fantasy, science, politics, and … love!!!!. GREAT character development, plot twists and — FEMALE HEROINES (Thank you! [insert applause]). Interesting narrative threads woven between plagues in the past and plagues to come. VERY clever. I also found myself actually yelling aloud to warn the peeps in the book about looming danger and cheered them on when they proved victorious. Seriously, I double-dare you to find more charming characters. As a Latinx, it was also refreshing to see a young Mexican girl as the potential SAVIOR OF THE HUMAN RACE!??? Amazing. More. Más. TRULY TRULY a treasure. Parents: buy 2 copies; you and your kids are going to straight-up FIGHT for it.

I am not the best of literary reviewers but I wanted to take time to recommend this book. I am a gamer, a science need, a young adult fiction fan and great believer in the goodness of people. Oracle was a joyful day spent in a world of history, magic and hope.
I am ordering the sequel today. I cannot wait to the the science meet magic.
